WHO AM I?

I am Georgina Wood, and am an 19 year old event rider, based in Reigate, Surrey.
I have been riding since I was three and have been eventing since I was eight! I completed my first affiliated British Eventing competition in 2007, and have completed 64 ODEs and two 3 day events in the last 6 seasons, enjoying every minute! I am a member of the Surrey Union Pony Club and have competed for them across all disciplines from mounted games and dressage to eventing and showjumping.
I have recently passed my UKCC Level Two coaching exam and am now a qualified coach. I do some teaching in the local area and am hoping to start teaching at Pony Club too.
I finished my A levels at Reigate Grammar School studying Geography, Biology and Sports Studies in the Summer of 2012. I was sad to leave after 8 fantastic years but at the same time I am very excited about what lies ahead! I am now taking a gap year to focus on the horses and my eventing, and hopefully doing a bit more teaching before heading to university to read Geography. I have accepted Royal Holloway as my first choice and have a confirmed place there starting September 2013.
However for the next year I am playing ponies so if you want a horse exercised or competed for you I am happy to have a chat to see if it would be suitable. I am very excited about the next year and hope that I can really enjoy the horses and learn a lot through having lessons and watching others to allow me to be the best I can be and therefore allow my horses to perform better as a result.
My 2012 season was rather crammed in to the last half having had A Levels in the Summer. However I think it has been one of my best Seasons to date. Ozzie, Lily and Punch were all placed at the JAS Finals which was one of my aims. Another aim was to Qualify Punch for a Regional Final at BE100 Level with the aim to go to Badminton in 2013. I qualified for a regional at our first event of the season and then Qualified for the Final at Dauntsey. Lily has jumped in a 1.10m class before the end of the year and felt fab however she was greener than we first thought - but we got going and completed a BE100 clear cross country by the end of the year. Bring on 2013!! I have also had my first ever BE win - and like buses 2 came this season which was pretty good!

You may ask, why eventing? Eventing is a fantastic sport to sponsor as there are three phases in which your company will receive exposure. When I am going cross country I provide some commentary information. This means that your company will be announced over the tannoy and be heard across the event. Eventing is also good, as it has a wide grassroots following, meaning it is possible to target the people who are likely to start to enquire about the products that you can offer. I event around the country and therefore the coverage will stretch countrywide. So why me? I am an up and coming event rider and therefore it makes it possible to give more time to the companies that do choose to sponsor me. However at the same time I can ensure good exposure for your company, regular blogs of how I am doing and non copyright pictures and videos for use. I will wear branded clothing at events such as coats etc, and the horses can wear numnahs and rugs displaying the companies logo.
